As a dancer it is so important to have the ability to take on feedback, corrections and constructive criticism and apply them to your dance training. 💃🏼
Often we can feel as though teachers are ‘picking on us’ or ‘nagging’. Especially if you hear the same feedback over and over. However it is vital to know that teachers only give feedback to dancers because they believe in you and want to help improve your dance skills, although if you are unable to apply them they will often stop reminding you. 🙅🏼♀️
Having the ability to self correct is such a fantastic skill to have and will be crucial as you progress through your career. During auditions no one will be correcting you. It is down to you to question your posture, alignment and technique. 🧠
⭐️Positive mindset tip:
“Could you try to stretch your underneath leg in your kick” DOESN’T mean your terrible at kicks it just means your kick would look better with a straight underneath leg.
You have the ability to change your mindset and take on feedback positively not a negative personal attack. 👊🏻
Amazing dancers aren’t always those that have the highest kicks and can do the most pirouettes, they are often the self-aware, self-correcting, positive an d willing to learn dancers that succeed.
Listen to any feedback given to you, thank your teachers for your corrections and apply them to your training to see fantastic results.🗝
